BOLD - backup and sync issues...

So, here I am, using Desktop Manager 4.6 trying to do a backup and sync Crypt Magic (my only add-in).

When I connect to Desktop Manager, I also get a message to delete/update languages. It looks like this:

I've tried to update, and it keeps coming back. I tried cancel, same thing.

I then decided to do a backup, and get an error message:

I initially thought that it was Crypt Magic, that was causing it, so, I uninstalled it, and tried again, same thing.

Any ideas, anyone?

Clean the cache. Go into the browser under option and then cache operations. clear everything and then try to do a backup.

Thanks! That worked, weird...

But, one issue left:

I get the option to uninstall the languages every time I connect to Desktop Manager. Weird...

Wirelessly posted (8310; RammerJammer!)

Navi, you are not alone with the language update alert from Apploader. I get it as well, on my most recent three releases (185, 190 & 210).

I just hit cancel and ignore. But it dioes bug me.

I need to delete some old OSs. I suspect it is something left over from .185.

I also get the same message.

Thank, God for that. I thought I was being targeted - LOL

Thanks for the heads-up...

I also get the msg [4.7 & .185] and it annoys me like none-other, but I have cleared out all the old OS's and it's still there....So I suspect it has something to do with a multi-language upgrade, because when I had out of the box .167I never got the msg...

See what happens when we "mod" our BB's .

Error Message Backing up Bold

I was getting the same error message, but that thanks to Koleary 19067's fix, the problem was resolved.

I had the issues as well. Under backup options (or Advanced, I can't remember), I unselected the "backup memory" checkbox. That cleared the issue for me.

naviwilliams 12-25-2008 01:40 PM

Problem with that is, what's the point of a backup, and not having the memory backed up, too?

Rhetorical, of course...

So, what you are saying is that RIM has an checkbox option to "backup memory content" and that if you unselect that checkbox, nothing gets backed up. Now that makes no sense now does it? Of course not.

When you unselect that option, everything still gets backup up, except files you save to the device on board memory, like pictures on the phone itself. You can easly back up those files by just copying them to your HD when the BB is connected to a PC.

Lex Reis 12-29-2008 07:10 AM
