OS: 8900 4.6.1.441/4.6.1.298 (English + EastAsia)
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.441 (EastAsia)
Package Version: 4.6.1.441 Consisting of: * Applications: 4.6.1.298 * Software Platform: 4.2.0.127 * File name: 8900jEastAsia_PBr4.6.1_rel441_PL4.2.0.127_A4.6.1.2 98_Tata_Teleservices_Ltd.exe * File size: 122.48MB Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld. * Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...179246148E0326 Instructions to install on ANY 8900 from ANY CARRIER. 1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. 2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." 3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file. The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization." If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device. Sticked. (y)

Thank you... been waiting for the next version.
Hmmmmmm... shows up in Desktop Manager as a downgrade. I think because it only has the 4.6 and the prior has 4.6.1.250. Anyone else try this? |
Downloaded and installed no problems. Everything looks the same, although I noticed call volume seems to be lower than .250
I will verify this with another 8900 this afternoon. Cameron |
Figures. The latest always seems to come out when I'm getting ready to go on a trip and can't chance things going wonky. Guess I'll load it in a couple weeks when I get home. By then, you all will have found all glitches, if any for me. ;-)

downloaded it, installed it and it works sweet :-) Thx...!
|
works great so far. Noticed it's smoother and faster load up times than my previous OS 4.6.1.231. Not sure how the battery life is yet, but i'll update with that later.

Wirelessly posted (8900 on T-Mo)
Loaded it on the second 8900 it works perfectly there too. Had to reinstall a couple of apps like Poynt due to some error messages, but that only takes a couple of minutes. Cameron |
Installing it now, I'll let you know what happens tomorrow, I'm headed for bed pretty quick!

Anyone else had a problem with the backlight not turning off?
I did a restart and it appears to have fixed it, but the blacklight stayed on and was draining my battery. Cameron |
Installed last night. Working with no problems so far. I'll post back after a few days.
|
Got it in yesterday morning no problems the wifi switching problem I was having seems to be solved, battery life seems the same.
