Can 3G be turned off in AT&T 9700?

If I recall correctly, AT&T disabled the ability to turn off 3G from the Bold 9000. Certain areas I work in have much better reception on EDGE and I would like the ability to change between EDGE and 3G at my discretion. Does anybody know if it is possible to turn off 3G on the 9700 with AT&T?

I would hope that they allow you to disable 3G on the 9700. Not sure if the 9700 has the same issue as the 9000.

On a non-ATT branded 9000, it gives you three options: 3G, 2G and 3G/2G.

On a ATT branded 9000, you only get two options: 2G and 3G/2G. There is no way to force a 3G only signal.

I like the 3G only option while tethering as it ensures there is no switching.

I can confirm that the AT&T 9700 has the option for 2G or 3G & 2G. There is no option to for 3G only.

Anyone from Rogers or any other Carrier - do you have all three options?

Thanks!

How about T-Mobile, being that their 3G is spotty and some users may want to stick to 2G.
