Not receiving texts and battery draining fast!
 

Just bought my BB 9000 and having trouble receiving texts. When I switch my sim card back to an old phone the messages pop up right away but not with the bb. Am I missing something?

Also

Have found the battery dies rather fast during the day. I do tend to wander into low signal areas from time to time. Can this drain the battery while searching for the 3g?

Yes, it can easily drain your battery and quick! Try switching to 2G only and see what happens.

Not too sure. Can you send yourself some test messages and receive them at all?

Try changing the sim card. You might have a sim card that is too old for the blackberry to work with properly.
