Emails appearing in both Messages and Gmail inbox

Hello,

I just bought a BlackBerry 8520 and I activated the BIS service.

I configured my device to get my professional emails (via an Outlook web interface) and personnal emails (Gmail account). I also use the Gmail enhanced plug-in for BlackBerry.

Here is my problem : when I receive a new email sent to my Gmail account, the message is shown in both "Messages" folder (=all-in-one Inbox) and "Gmail" folder. Same issue emails sent to my work email address. This issue is very problematic when you use the Gmail plug-in, because when you archive an email, the email will disappear from the "Gmail" folder (which is what it should do) but the same email will remain in the "Messages" folder (which is annoying because you have to delete it, it is not synchronized with the Gmail folder).

I would prefer my BlackBerry to keep each account separate (and not show every email in the all-in-one "Messages" folder. How can I configure my BlackBerry in such way that my device will display emails in their respective folder only ?

Thank you for your reply.

You can't.
Unless you upgrade to OS 5, which allows you to chose which accounts are seen in the MESSAGES folder.

Hello MidNightDRaven.

Thank you for your reply.

Is the OS v5.0.0.860 (Multilanguage) an official and final version ?

Why is it released for a specific telecom operator (Wind Hellas) and not for every BlackBerry 8520 ?

Thank you for your reply.

I simply "Hide" all of my email inboxes and use the message box for all my emails.

edit: I see now that you don't want to do this. I have OS 5.0 and all still come to the message box.

Incidentally I do like to seperate my sms inbox from my emails.

Yes its official, no its not the "final" version.
They are updated all the time.

They come from RIM, to the carriers, but only some carriers decide to release it.
You can install ANY carriers OS to your BB (as long as they are for that model BB); and have no problems.

@sixballer; there is an option to change it, but like you said, you use the MESSAGES folder.

I agree - this is a pain. Find it annoying that I cannot keep these separate. I just traded an iPhone back in and it handled this without a problem. If anyone finds a fix please let me know.
