Redfly VS modem, router, tethering apps

I'm taking opinions of some products/services because I am unsure what weighs out to be a better product/service to have.

Redfly is pretty much a laptop that runs off the blackberry and the BlackBerry's operating system. Compared to an app that would allow your laptop to use your BlackBerry's data plan. The Redfly can only perform that of a BlackBerry, as a laptop can do anything.

But there are some pros and cons, and I want you guys to list those to me from your own point of view. Just two simple questions. Which is better and why? What are the pros and cons of each type of those products/services?

Redfly vs mobishark, tether, cradeploint, PdaNet are some example apps of this type of service.

Thanks guys,
-Rich

If you are on tmobile as your profile says you dont need anything extra to tether your berry.

Not sure how a router comes into this either

Desktop manager (free and included with your berry) + the phone+ laptop = fun times

Could you explain more on this please? My laptop can use my services web data just by doing something in desktop manager with everything connected? Details please! :D

Thanks,

-Rich

As for everyone else, if you use any of these types of apps, or even if you don't if you could give me your opinions on them, and which would be better.

Tether has a free trial that you can see if you like it or not and same with PDA net. Try them both. I think you will see that these options are faster than BDM and the file on your computer is way smaller.

Tether costs to much. BDM is FREE, nothing is better than FREE. Also, no disrespect to who you may be, but Tether's support SUCKS. They treated me like I was DIRT, SCUM, SH*T on the bottom of their shoes. I will never visit Tether, or recommend it to anyone. I won't go out of my way to bash on them, because then it may attract someone. That's how bad it is.
