Application memory/ Device Memory
Hi All,
I need your advise :) I plan to upgrade to 9700 from 9000, because we have problem with low memory all the time and we have to pull out & back in the battery to get more memory. In the Specification 9000 having 1GB Device Memory and 9700 Having 256MB Memory. And Flash RAM at 9000 having 128 and 9700 having 256MB. When we use 9000, always the Application memory show ZERO kb, With this condition all the phone running very slow some time can not use for few minute. What is mean the Device Memory 1 GB in 9000? If we upgrade to 9700 with Flash Memory 256MB and Device memory only 256MB, is it better than 9000 ? because if we compare Device Memory 9000 1GB and 9700 only 256MB. Regards, Setia |
Device memory is where you CAN (but its advisable not to) store pictures, videos, music etc.
Yes, the 9700 has 256MB of Application Memory. this is DOUBLE the 128MB of the 9000. You should therefore have alot more FREE application memory, and won't have to do battery pulls to free up memory for the device to run. |
Thank you...

well I have memory card and I thought if we store applications etc into memoy card will device be more space memory somehow?
|
No. It doesn' work that way. All applications are loaded into application memory. Never on the memory card. You can install from there, but they are ALWAYS resident in the application memory.

How to Upgrade Memory Application... because we Love Bold 9000 :)
|
You can't.
