2 BES, 1 SQL = Database Migration Failed???
 

I have been running 1 BES (4.0 with sp3) with a SQL database just fine.

I built a second BES (4.0 with sp2) and pointed it at the same SQL database.

When I try to update the second BES to sp3, it trys to convert the database and I get:

"The database migration has failed, and an attempt to create the database has failed."

Am I doing something wrong?

Is the DB on the same box as the original BES? If so then you may want to double check permissions in SQL. Also double check to make sure the SQL Network Protocols are enabled (svrnetcn utility). Finally, ensure the DB is not in use when you are upgrading by shutting down the original BES.

The DB is on a separate server.
RIM sent me the full install file of 4.0 with SP3 and that allowed me to install since the database did not need migrated.
