Can't download new OS; lack of memory
 

I'm new so this may have been addressed elsewhere, and if so please point me there.

Both my husband and I have the first Storm and experienced the same inability to download the newest OS update. It started out a bit confusing because when I (we) received the new update notice using the new Desktop Manager, the OS version reported was 6. I'd read in several places that the Storm 1 wasn't able to use OS 6. When the download started, it said it was some version of OS 5. Then the update stopped, gave me a list of apps on my Storm with the amount of memory they were using, and gave me the option of removing apps to release enough memory to store the new OS. Except that I could have removed everything from the Storm and still not had enough room because the amount of memory listed for the new OS exceeded what it said my Storm inherently had.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? It seems on the face of it that I won't ever be able to upgrade the OS on my BB. Thanks!
