WLAN Address Erased
Hi. I need some tech minded person to help me reprogramme the WLAN MAC address to my 8900.
I downloaded a Blackberry Engineering Screen code generator program. Then 'messed' around with various settings that subsequently appeared. Somehow I have erased the WLAN MAC address on my device. The status screen shows '00:00:00:00:00' where my WLAN MAC was. Is it possible to reprogramme the WLAN MAC address? If so, can somebody please provide instructions. Thanks very much. And yes I know I was a fool for messing with the engineering screens. |
Re: WLAN Address Erased
I totally understand curiosity... but you really shouldnt do things like this unless you know what your doing.
you will have to go back and re-program your mac address. use the one printed on the label under your battery. |
Re: WLAN Address Erased
Good advice. Only problem is I don't know how to reprogramme the MAC. I do know what my MAC is as I have it on a label on the Blackberry box. Any ideas how to reprogramme it to my device.

Re: WLAN Address Erased
Sadly, no. I have os9 on my 9700, so even if i had the EE screen unlocked, i wouldn't be able to tell you what to change (os6 EE screen is a bit different)
find out what your mac used to be and then go look through ee sreen for any setting relating to the mac address. try resetting it that way. otherwise, you have a pretty unique BB thats got to be pretty fun to use on wifi. Netadmins will only see a null mac address :) |
