[Whatsapp] Sync. error 443
 

Dear BBForums,

This morning I've updated my Blackberry to OS 6.0.0.499 and since that update Whatsapp ain't working. Now I'm guessing Whatsapp just isn't compatible with version 6.0.0.499 (while it was on 6.0.0.461) but before I'm downgrading my phone I was wondering if some people had or have the same problem.

To explain it: When I open Whatsapp (first time since the update, than you have to enter you're phone number and receive a text etc.) and it goes on initializing than at the "Updating" (I think it's "Updating" on the English version, but I'm not sure because I have the Dutch version) it get's stuck and I get the message "Sync. error: could not connect to sro.whatsapp.net:443 (Please wait while the system tries again)"

Someone is familiar with this error? Someone knows the solution (besides downgrading, that's my last option since I really like this update a lot).

FYI: I'm using Whatsapp v2.6.2177, I've downloaded it from their site and before that version I had 2.6.2085 which gave me the same message.

I have the exact same error. I got my 9780 few days ago and the whatsapp was working normally even today in the morning (GMT+8). At around 1800, my whatsapp stop working and giving me the exact same error "sync error: could not connect to sro.whatsapp.net: 443 (Please wait while system retries.)" I don't think is the Blackberry OS version problem and I guess that is their server problem. But while I search on the internet. This is the only post I've found so far. I sent an email to the support of whatsapp team and I hope they will give me a reply soon.

Whatsapp version I am using is v2.6.2085 and I don't see any update from the Blackberry App World. Where did you get that version v2.6.2177 ?? coz even i click to their website, I don't see any v2.6.2177.

In the mean time, I think you don't have to downgrade you version of OS.

reinstall the app. check for latest versions.

the error your getting is because the software cant connect to their servers; email the devs and let them know; they can tell you what circumstances would cause this to happen.

I have the same issue, Yesterday Whatsapp was working ok, but I updated today to Whatsapp Messenger 2.6.2085 and it´s not working now... my OS is 5.0.0.320, I think that the new updated has some issues...

Yeah, did it on .2085 in the beginning, same story but I deleted and reinstalled it to see if that was the problem (also not the problem). Than I deleted it again and downloaded it from whatsapp.com (though my Blackberry Browser) and than I saw it was .2177 so I got my hope all up, but also didn't work. :(

Hmm, that means 6.0.0.499 shouldn't be the problem... Strange thing is that .2085 was working properly on v6.0.0.461...

Edit:

Like wtf. :') The screen it was stuck on with "Updating" have been open for like 6 hours and suddenly it's working now. :')
So I guess... problem solved? :') Just keep that screen open for a long long time. xD

my whatsapp is not working still. it only work with wifi, error is 'Sync Error: insufficient network coverage', whereas internet browsing is working perfectly fine.

Any help will be highly appreciated...
