Wait till the governor of Texas throws his hat into the ring. His leadership during the current session is similar to the leadership of a moldy cow turd.

Less than zero.

Just what we need, another cowboy Governor from Texas!

Ah yes, the Messianic Michelle throws her hat into the ring. This candidate is, IMHO, another proponent of polarized positions at precisely the time that we need more calm, cool heads -- and when I suspect that a centrist Republican would have a great chance of seizing the WH in 2012.

Frankly, I suspect that the Democratic party establishment is thrilled to see her in the race, estimating that should she be nominated the probability of an Obama re-election would increase dramatically. The hoof-in-mouth mistakes that she makes are legendary.

Edit: As for the CNN article, I found it fascinating that Michelle doesn't see much evidence for evolution. In her case, I'd certainly have to agree.

Re: Bachmann

The extreme right loves her. But yes, if she somehow gets anywhere close to the nomination, the oppo research team won't have to look too hard for fodder.

I think Romney is a centrist, he's just cloaking himself in the rhetoric of the far right so he can get through some primaries.

And if the Cowboy Governor from TX gets in, look out!

Re: Bachmann

And yes, an obvious creationist. Funny you should point that out. I leafed through the Evolution thread yesterday. Man, I forgot how much fun that was! Wonder whatever happened to Dawg...

Re: Bachmann

Last I heard I thought that Dawg had relocated to the low unemployment state of North Dakota.

That was the last I heard too. He didn't get on to the other bb forums run by jibi last year at all. So who knows. I know he was having some health problems. Hope the guy is ok.

Watch out for a Romney/Cain ticket. Remember, you heard it from me first.

Re: Bachmann

Hmm. Not so sure about this Cain dude. But there sure is a lot of talk about Marco Rubio being on a ticket as VP candidate. He's a Tea Party darling.

Two rights don't fix a wrong but two wackos make a ticket.

Never happen. Their egos wouldn't allow it. Perry/Rubio maybe.

yeah, well, with a totally stalled economy due to policies that don't work (aren't supposed to work, either) I only wish you good luck with your annointed one, Obama. He'll go the way with Jimmy Carter, no matter who wins the republican nomination.

Re: Bachmann

Hmmm. I don't think that I've seen anyone here claim to be an Obama advocate -- mostly comments about the contenders on the GOP side.

mriff 06-17-2011 08:05 PM

Re: Bachmann

Really, who said anything about supporting Obama. I certainly didn't. I just wish we could get someone on the Republican ticket with some credibility. There are some good fiscal conservatives out there. I'm just tired of the ultra-right candidates getting all the press.

Re: Bachmann

And if Rick Perry is your guy, you probably need to tell him to be careful about being associated with the American Family Association. That helps him in TX but probably won't in the rest of the US.
