Pure Frustation - Where is the App World?
 

Ok, so I bought a BlackBerry PlayBook and I can't find any way to download apps. I can open the blackberry app world from my browser but when I touch the blackberry app world icon nothing happens.

Please dumb it down for me! I'm pissed at RIM for making something that is so easy on the iPhone extremely complicated on a blackberry.

You still need a BlackBerry data plan to use things like App World.

Not sure how much dumber it can be.
Have you connected to a WiFi network?
Are you paired to a BlackBerry?

I don't think the problem is with the Playbook...

nope that is a stupid response. im connected via wifi. where can i download apps from my blackberry playbook

You obviously set up a BBID. Connected via WiFi? Not sure why you are opening App World in your browser, but try restarting your PB. You do not need a BB Data Plan to access App World from your PB.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you can connect to Desktop Manager and try reloading the OS, as it probably will not take as long. Back up your tablet beforehand.

I will assume you are running the latest official OS, and not the developer's Beta build? It is pretty straight forward.

thanks zombie. i was expecting an icon of some sort but i dont see one on the main page when i start up my playbook

You cannot see the icon for App world on your home screen? Have you scrolled through all the icons?

There was no icon at all! So I downloaded the latest software and it appeared!

This is a known bug and could easily fool any new blackberry user.

The real reason it was missing is because ZobieBerry had the Icon on his playbook and would not share it. Rim only has one and he got it.
