bb9930 pairing with Plantronics PLT510??

I've got a BB9930 (7.1 bundle 457 - v7.1.0.163, platform 5.1.0.137) through work on Verizon. I've also got a Plantronics PLT510 headset which I've had for a long time and had no issues with previous generations of BB when paired.

The current issue is - I can pair with no problem, and make or receive a phone call. shortly after hanging up (about a minute), the pairing will drop, and I have to re-pair to get the headset reconnected.

I've searched, but can't find this issue discussed elsewhere. Is it possible that I simply need to get a "newer" headset, and if so, any recommendations on headsets that stay connected??

Good question. If the Plantronics had worked well for previous devices I would be somewhat dubious about it being the source of the problem. Has it ever worked on the 9930? Has any BT device worked on the 9930? I'd be inclined to try and rule out the BB as a source of the problem before necessarily jumping to the conclusion that it is the headset. I have a 510 that works fine with my 9780.

But if it is the headset, consider the Voyager Pro. Works nicely, and I can even use it to dictate on the PC.

Maybe try pairing the headset on a friends phone. If it works, you know it's the BB. If it has the same problem, then it's time for a new headset. The latest version of that headset is called the Voyager Pro HD. Great headset that I personally have used now for 6+ months. Another options that just became available is a cord specifically for BlackBerry and Plantronics Headsets. You can search "blackberry" at headsetsdirect.com for more info.
