What are the *Must have* accessories for 8700?

Hi All,

New to the forum so please be gentle!

I've received a new Blackberry 8700v and have been using it for two/three days now. What i really want to know is what the best product is for protecting the screen, and whether the fake look leather belt clip holder will stand the test of time?

I don't mind buying a better case, and a screen protector as these should be a great idea to keep my new purchase looking shiny!

Finally, I use POP mail, but am considering using a hosted Exchange server with BES e.g. MailStreet.com. Does anyone have any experience of how good the service is from these hosters? I'm a small business, one employee and realtime reliable email is a must!

Take care all,

S

First things first......You HAVE to get a screen protector. I went with invisible shield...couldn't be happier.

Thanks... I didn't even remove the plastic yet, much to the annoyance of less caring folks in the office. Are the screen shields easily replaced without damaging the screens?

I'll look up the details now and place an order!

Any other top tips guys?!

They are guaranteed for life! Life time replacements...I've never needed to take mine off...but I've heard it's no big deal...

1. Case or screen protector (Check for reviews done by Lgreenberg for great case lists)

2. Extended Battery with Extended Battery door

3. Bluetooth Headset

4. VPC (vehicle power charger)

Optional

Bluetooth Keyboard
Bluetooth Car Speaker kit, if your car doesnt have BT

Check lgreenberg's site for good reviews of cases, screen & body protectors, eGrips, etc.

I did not see an invisible shield for the 8700c? Which one should be purchased to work with the 8700c?

Update **Did not find it under phones, but searched for blackberry and it popped up. The search button does work :) **

Doesn't specify 8700c/r/g so would presume it will work with all. They have a screen only version (above) or a full body one which includes the back side.

I would go with the following since I've had experience with all of them (I got these for my 7105t but u can also get them for the 8700):
1) Case-I will be getting an open face case for ease of access without removing the 'Berry
2) Screen protectors-to avoid scratching the screen or getting it dirty (once the air bubbles resolve themselves in 24 hours)
3) BT Headset-handsfree, wireless phone communication
4) BT Carkit-see number 3
5) egrips-Once u can get these to stay on, they will keep ypur phone in place when u put it down (I had problems with the top grip on my 7105t)

Should be listed under PDAs. Very good stuff. Have it on my iPod and it's saved it from nasty scratches more than a few times.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/120)

The egrips look like a great idea. Don't like how the battery cover is so light, it wobbles a little bit so perhaps the grip will make it a bit more solid. Are they easy to remove again if they don't work out. PS the WAP view of this forum works great on a BB.

Try a kiosk at your local mall.

Accessories

Smart Phone Depot has great service and price. Hosted exchange - LanLogic has great customer service and updates their service frequently. I have a small office with 4 people on this and it is a breeze and a pleasure.

No financial interest in any of the above.

For case (and yes I have more than LGreenberg though I will not talk about how many) The tuff-as-nuts is the best. JMHO.
