HOW-TO: Prevent G-mail "Sent Items" from being sent to your handheld.
***Edit March 2009 by John Clark*** BIS 2.6 was released and has fixed this duplicate problem. If you are having this issue remove your gmail from your BIS account and re-add it to update to the 2.6 release. You can do this by logging in to BIS on the web as described below or by using the Manage Internet Email icon on your device.

Your email addy is showing in step 3's image...FYI :-) Figured you might want to know, since you went through all the trouble of blacking out all the others. Thanks for the how to man!

thanks for the detailed tip- but if i actually want a copy of my sent emails sent to my device when i compose a message in gmail, how would I do that? thanks!
|
I've got a better idea about those sent emails. Instead, why not have Gmail fwd every email directly to your BIS email, whatever that is for your server. That way you receive your emails immediately and you can still POP them from outlook if you like. You have the added bonus of not caring about whether or not your emails in BIS or your handheld are there or not (ie, you can delete easily).

I believe that method only works on the cingular BIS... tmobile, sprint, dont' have that option
|
Thanks. I'm using this with my Pearl on Rogers Wireless. 8-)
|
FYI
Using BIS registered gmail account my BB gets the message BEFORE it shows up on my screen. faster than instant. Now that what I call 'push tech' |

That works too...However, with that method you don't have the ability to reconcile wirelessly with your gmail inbox. |

used to be called webclient if you got a BB and got service on it, and not on one that your company gave you or something that is locked down by a BES (BIS != BES) then all you have to do is setup a BIS account online. The URL varries from carrier to carrier but if you do not know yours you can go to the blackberry website slash support/client/index.shtml (i dont have enough posts to insert URLs yet) and look at the bottom under accessing the blackberry internet service website section for the link to your carrier |
Thanks works great!
