BBC is out for Windows Smartphone

Dopod International:BlackBerry Connectâ„¢ for Windows Mobile

Looks like BBC is out for smartphone, can someone try to get this rom or program, would love to try it on a dash.

1. Go to this link Dopod International Corp.
2. Sign up (everything can be bogus except the e-mail address)
3. Download
4. Let us know how well it works

Of course I tried that, you need to input a serial number in order to get access to apps....

We someone with any type of Dopod phone, preferably the C720w to try it.... Otherwise I would have posted it ;P

Well, you didn't say that... :)

Yes, I know. Next time I will be more specific....I have posted on a few forums. Hopefully someone with a Dopod will get it for us. I seem to remember a few days back someone posting they had in with someone at Rim and would share it once it came out. Hopefully that person may be able to help us all out...

Presumably this version of BB Connect should work on any Windows device, including one used here in North America, provided we are running a BES, correct?

sting0r 12-07-2006 03:49 PM

Presumably it will work on Tmobile Dash / HTC Xcaliber like devices. It may need a special rom, like the Wizard or Hermes, but should work. I doubt it will work on devices like the blackjack or moto q...

I signed into it and there's nothing to download but manuals for the phones, nothing related to the BlackBerry Connect client, has anyone else found it?

The Dash has the same OS as the Q and the blackjack. If this was available 2 months ago, I may have kept that Dash. Hopefully someone can get this working and report back!

you probably will see BB connect come out for everything as time goes on. RIM will have counter Exchange 2003 SP2 push features. A year ago, it was not a threat, now WM5 smartphones are taking market share away.

I am still working on getting it. Been in contact within someone in singapore was able to login in and get it. Will hopefully be emailing it to me later tonight, due to the time difference. Keep your fingers crossed..,

sting0r 12-09-2006 07:35 AM

I am still trying, the guy hasn't been back online since yesterday. :( I left him a PM again, hopefully soon. I am holding off on purchasing my dash until then....

Same here on a Blackjack. Though, my company was just acquired, and it looks like the new org. supports both BES and MS Push email (not until Jan. 1 though).

Thanks, but that's for PocketPC, not Smartphone (which is what the Dash and Blackjack run).

Got it! Works fine on my DASH

Got the smartphone version and installed it on my DASH. Got it from a friend in Singapore. It seemes to work fine on my DASH. I get both of my BES and BIS emails....Installed the cab file on the device...Found the desktop software (Activesync Blackberry configuration tool) and voila! I use it on Cingular...I just swapped my sim from 8700c to my unlocked DASH and it took less than 10mins to setup.

Not sure if I can freely distribute the cab file though...I'll check with the source first. Hang tight guys!
