New Pearl -- Vibrate Not working
 

I am new to the blackberry, but have been having to deal with some pretty irate people when I wasn't available to take their call b/c the Pearl didn't vibrate. I have OS 4.2.0.69 (platform 2.2.0.40) and have gone through the profiles trying to get vibrate to work but it won't. It simply makes a very low whining sound....Any ideas?

BTW, this occurs no matter which services I set to vibrate (i.e., calls, messages, etc.)

If you have gone through the Profiles and verified they are correct, then first I would suggest a battery pull. That seems to fix most problems. However, if that doesn't work, you may have a bad unit and will have to exchange it.
