TMo Price Increase on BB Unlimited (BIS)

Apparently they have made it official. This was mentioned earlier this week by BGR that T-Mobile was doing price adjustments on several of their plans. One of the increase was the BB Unlimited Data Plan only which has gone up from 29.99 to 39.99.

Now, for most of us that should not matter as it is still better than most carriers out there.

However, take a look at the screenshot below that I have produced to satisfy your need for bitter food this morning. This was supposed to have come up on the 16th but I guess they wanted to do this early. What I have highlighted below gives a cause for concern.

What do you think?

Might be a type-o in one area or another. I would contact them to verify if you do or don't get text messages. I thought the data plans did not include text messages in the first place, but I could be wrong.

You would be wrong, not could. ;)

It did "originally" give you 300 text messages a month on that plan. Originally as in if this is a change, it's a major downgrade in term of pricing and plan offered. I would have been happier if they increased the number of text messages they would give us for that plan a month in conjunction with the price increase.

Dang, that DOES suck. I would hope they would keep that then. I would definitely call them to confirm, though.

this was on Boy Genius a few days ago, not good for new BIS users.

One question: This is the pricing for the BlackBerry plan without a voice plan, correct? I was thinking of signing the wife up on T-Mobile but only if the price is still $19.99 with a voice plan.

Update: I answered my own question. I see in the web page that it says voice calls are $.20 a minute. Thanks, Jeremy! lol.

Whew! I have a voice plan, I got worried there for a second. =)

The BIS add-on and BES add-on have not changed. They are still 19.99 and 29.99, respectively.

So is BES now the same price as BIS for data only? I would hope this only affects new customers who are not already on a contract at $29.99.

test54 09-13-2007 01:49 PM

yes, its just for new customers. no change if under contract.

Do you know if the new pricing will take place for equipment upgrades (i.e. new contract) if the old $29.99 BIS plan was the previous plan?
