A very good friend of mine works @ BlackBerry mfg plant; he told me (and I quote):

'Make sure you turn OFF NFC; it kills your battery'

No. If i leave it, I can see that the call is there and goes to voicemail after 5-7 seconds, but the actual ringtone rings once. With OS 5 it rand 4-5 times before voicemail.
