I'm not sure I understand correctly, but my BB media setting was set to automatically mount when connected, so I changed that setting to "no". I don't have the problem with the file...

Just to add a little more to the above - I seem to get a connection for about 30 seconds. I know ping is meant to be unreliable with barry, but I can ping a server by domain name (so dns is working...
