I've Fixed it! ... found a crazy and extreme way of doing it, but I am now running the .423 OS with the gmail .30 Plugin, steps are below:

1.) Backup your handset using desktop manager....

mine installed itself when I had it connected to...

mine installed itself when I had it connected to desktop manager, it searches on line for new software and then gives you the update for the plugin

That info is actually quite valuable, the issue you're having is the issue i had once i'd upgraded to the .423 OS, it automatically updates the gmail plugin to .30 from .25 that i'm using...
