Nope, you need to do the restore BEFORE you start the activation. If you do it afterwards, you won't be able to do the restore as the device is then controlled by the BES.

If it doesn't have the product name printed, then it is very likely that it is a non-final hardware. On almost all eval units, the IMEI starts with 00, regardless if it is final hardware or not.

Maybe it is caused by attachments your users are trying to view on the device. As far as I know the BES Attachment Service extracts attachments to the temp directory.
