I'm also getting excessive drops, and in a GW env't it can cause phones to show as out of coverage. The fix is to restart the dispatcher service, or upgrade to 4.1.6 mr3.

You do not need to upgrade to 4.0 SP6, in fact I wouldn't. I already did and there is a bug where if you restart the BES task ALL pending messages sitting on the BES box are LOST and never delivered....
