Please can anyone explain why battery pulls are required to increase effectiveness? Can the same thing be achieved by soft reboots (alt+caps + del).

I did the "vendor.xml" deletion part but this is what I am getting - The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer....

A complete newbie question - will installing this version in a country where this version is not launched yet void the warranty?
