You don't have to regenerate a new trusted app key. I've changed the admin email accounts several times before without having to create a trusted app key.

If you have a TSupport subscription, call them and ask for the groupwise Update ID tool. It'll allow you to change the username and not have to reactivate. Look at KB10325.

Do you have groupwise 8 client on the BES? If so try downgrading it to groupwise 7.0.3 HP1. According to the compatibility matrix, version 8 on the server is still being assessed for compatibility.
