You have to enable AutomateProcessing for each mailbox where EWS is used on the BES.
As EWS seems to be default for 5.0.2 this leads to issues as BES does not fallback to CDO in this case.

Afaik EWS is default for 5.0.2. Make sure there are no errors in CALH log.

You may also raise MAGT debug log level to 15...

I think 5.01 is not supported on 2008 R2. TX4 support revealed to me that there were incompatibilities and that 2008 R2 support is on the agenda for SP2.
