I don't think that setting refers to the backup file. Mine is off also and the file is still encrypted.

I would think it may be a combination of the OS10 update and newer pc OS incompatibility. Older win 7 generally was fully supported by Blackberry.

I think a lot other applications on a computer may be interfering with LINK. I do not have encryption set and still have the problem. Your thoughts on it being something interfering with...

Sadly I do not think Blackberry company will fix this issue. Possibly the new handset company TCL may address the backup issue.
I'm not sure encryption can be disabled on older phones.
