I had a change to do some troubleshooting today, and my issue was caused by the IT policy. With my old 8703e, same policy had no issues tethering, but somehow it has an issue with the bold.

you can use NT credentials. For a particulair role, put in domainnaime\username you don't have to sql authentication. The one caviot is that you can only use accounts from the same domain.
