As a dealer I can say yes, backlogging is common and can take up to 24 hours for the number to take effect. As for the data end it may take 48 hours seeing that you got 24 to wait for your number. ...

That thingy you refer to is a Sim Card Reader and retails for around 19.99 if you find the right dealer. people wanted them so bad that we were told to sell them for what we could get for them.
