If I put on the shoes of the generic computing world.. I am of the opinion that in any transaction, the bottleneck is always an IO (Input/Output) operation which requires read/write operation from and to a particular media. I think a BlackBerry can spool higher data but it solely depends on the IO speed of the destination media to accept and store the data.

I have used a Class 4 microSD before and now I am using a Sandisk Class 6 microSD card (8GB). I have experienced a faster data rate. I am pretty sure that micro SD cards with higher data transfer rates would do better.
