Twelve megabytes is getting borderline between barely adequate and maybe a problem. If it is 12 MB immediately after a battery pull, recognize that it will drop into single digits after some use and could get into a range where the OS can't function. If it is 12 MB a while after a reboot and with some apps running, then you are probably good so long as you don't do anything that uses more memory than you are using now...i.e. no new apps or themes without deleting something else first.
