I use my 9900 one-handed. Seems to fit perfectly, and didn't really understand what the problem was. Haha Until I realized I have an OtterBox defender on my phone. Fits perfectly and have not had any run-ins with accidentally hitting buttons and/or touchscreen. I don't know about an app to disable the screen, you can alsways try getting a case and see if your one handed technique works.
