For example, when i sign in to this site, go to General Discussion and look quickly at all posts on the page, i have no idea which posts that I have posted in.(i did initially b/c i didnt participate that much). Most forums have a different icon(HoFo has an envelope with a hole in it) to signify that i have a post in that thread.
