Simplest thing you can try is changing your WiFi channel. The best (strongest) channels are 1, 6, and 11 because they don't overlap in frequencies; however because something else might be interfering (microwave oven, cordless phone, etc.) you might get better performance out of a random channel like 4 or 7 instead.

It's unique to wherever you love - for example my neighbor's TIVO wifi never worked until we changed his wireless from channel 6 to channel 3, now it works just fine. To much interference with surrounding radio waves is a common problem when you and all your neighbors run Wifi on the usual default channel 6.
