At that price you could purchase another WRT54GL and run DD-WRT on it; besides being able to create a WDS out of 2+ routers you can also crank up the mW tx/rx rate of the device -- you'll get better (wider/more) coverage at the expense of a bit more dirty connection, maybe a little slower. The typical router comes at 20mW or so (last time I looked) but DD-WRT will let you crank that sucker up to 100, 200mW or so (don't have it front of me to look right now).
