To reset the password - first enter the Device using the current password.
From main screen:
Options =>
Security =>
(click in wheel)Change Password
enter the new password (
following your IT policy for password standards)
then verify.
Wiping the handheld will allow you to select a new password but as you noted, will also erase your data.
