tsac, prior to your post I believe I have done this exact procedure now two or three times (deleting the account each time to start fresh). The only difference is that each time I had done these steps online rather from within the BB as this article describes. That shouldn't make a difference...should it?
And all seemed fine each time (i.e. messages arrive as expected with synchronicity re messages received and sent between the BB and the online GMAIL account). The only issue each time is no migration of the online GMail contacts to the Torch.
