AT&T 9860 running 7.1.0.694

Trackpad will depress and choose something but it will not scroll in any direction.

Battery pull did not resolve.

Opened BB and checked the connectors. All seemed to be fine and in place. Put back together, battery in, and it worked. 5 minutes later the BB became sluggish performance wise then rebooted itself. Trackpad went back to not scrolling. Repeated disassembly and got the same results.

Anyone else have this issue or any ideas on what I can try?
