My battery performance improved significantly after upgrading from the T-Mobile OS shipped w/ the phone to v. 206...
Now I do other features like reduced brightness to 80%, turning off the backlight dimming, and use standby mode when I go to bed at night (I sleep with my phone near me because it's my 2nd alarm)....
I am pretty pleased with the battery performance at this point in time...
