Ok FitRadio based on their privacy agreement does use the browser on the phone. I saw suggestions that cookies can be blocked on the phone browser to maintain privacy.
Also, although details are limited, the site does suggest songs or workout music is not stored on the users phone. The App may simply be using the phones browser to communicate. Anyway If I find out ore I will post it.
Unfortunately if it is the browser ,the default browser on the phone cannot be changed and getting a different one downloaded wont help because the default browser cannot be changed on the phone.
