I missed this entire thread but I will throw in my two cents.

I can see what the OP is trying to say, but the OP isn't taking into consideration the hundreds of users that have come here asking how to snoop into their significant other's device. Or how to circumvent their employer's policies.

And the countless number of them that have pretended to be someone that has had their device "hacked" to get information on how to do this. So, I guess being cautious about giving out information to the wrong people gives you an attitude these days.

It's hard to tell what the user's intentions are or if they're sincere in their request. So, more times than not, long-term users of the site sway to the side of get as much information as possible before giving out too much information. Which, in my opinion, is the best case.
