Part of the reason it's (negligibly) faster is the way it downloads and stores header info. That's also why it's a memory hog and can't recover memory it has "leaked". You might also consider you may not have the best browser options set.
But I think you've missed my main point as stated earlier in the thread...the ability to read RSS on a BlackBerry AND a PC AND keep it all in sync. As far as I know, Google Reader is the only way to fill that requirement currently.
So yeah...I do understand my point!
