Blackberry With Sasktel

I am not sure if anyone on this forum is from Saskatchewan, but with a Sasktel Blackberry Plan, if you are sent an email to your blackberry, but do not open it, does it still count against your data? The one lady at sasktel said it did, but that doesnt make any sense. It would be like getting a call and not answering it, it doesnt cost. Anyone have any insight on this?
