Latest Yankee Group Survey of Smartphone Buyers:
40% of European smartphone buyers intend to buy an iPhone next
It's about European buyers. Here's the breakdown:
iPhone: 40%
Android: 19%
BlackBerry: 17%
Nokia: 15%
No surprise that both iOS and Android are outselling BlackBerry. That hasn't been news for over a year. But 17% is still enough of a customer base to keep RIM in business. A surprising takeaway from this survey is Nokia being down at #4. Until this quarter they were the #1 smartphone maker in the world, and Europe was a bastion of Nokia support. Apple and Samsung both passed Nokia in smartphone sales, and in 2012 HTC will push them to #4.
