I know what you mean. I used to have a chum who kept his mobile stowed away in a number of bags and boxes, so as not to scratch it. He eventually bought a bluetooth headset, only to minimise the times when he would have to touch his phone.
I didn't point out to him that he was touching his bluetooth headset.
