I've got 3 users in china right now. They have T-Mobile blackberries. Two of them have 8320s and one has a 7290. The one with the 7290 is getting a GPRS signal and has voice and data access. The two users with the curves have edge signal and have voice but no data. T-Mobile was not helpful - they said "you're traveling internationally and sometimes data just doesn't work".

It seems to me that it probably has something to do with the carrier that they are roaming under right now won't allow or is having trouble with EDGE and thats why they are getting the lowercase edge. The 7290 doesn't have a problem because it can't do any better than GPRS.

So my question is this - is there a way to force a T-Mobile 8320 to use GPRS instead of EDGE? If not, does anyone have any other ideas how I can get my users data access?
