9930 Tasks will not take any items

I have been using the `tasks' application since getting this new model a week or so ago.
Suddenly, one day I opened tasks and find my list gone. Further, when I attempt to save a new task it is not saved. There is no error shown any where, but when I press save... it appears to work... accept no item appears in the tasks list.
I took it to my verizon store but no one there could get it working either. I was told to call the techs by using `611' but when I do, I always am told there is an "unusually heavy" call load and that I should try again later.
Has anyone else here experienced a similar phenomena
