I don't think we can assume right now most users don't care since it was difficult to uncover...
And yes, other devices certainly have their "issues" as well. The BB was my preferred device even though I own other things. But not now... that is over until this is addressed. I have no mail through the BIS anymore.
Whether you care about SSL or not is not the issue - it's about the choice - or lack thereof on a BB.
