Wirelessly posted (8820)

To answer your question, instructions always say the unit must have a clear view of the sky. In the past, with a standalone gps device, and with a bluetooth puck, I've had trouble in very foggy or very cloudy weather. But I've found the gps in my 8820 to be very sensitive and haven't had those troubles like I remember before. It even finds satellites when indoors so long as it is reasonably near windows.

Also, be aware that if you have not used the gps in a while, or if you turn it on after moving a great distance from where it was last used, it will take a long time to find satellites, sometimes.

When you rebooted, was it a soft reset, or did you pull the battery for about 30 seconds? If not, do that.

And finally, ditto what EZ says.
